Working with Schools

At The Ginger Cat Bookshop, we believe in the transformative power of reading and its pivotal role in education. We’re proud to offer specialised services tailored for schools, ensuring that students and teachers alike have access to the best literary experiences. From interactive author events that inspire creativity to meticulously organised book fairs that cater to diverse reading interests, our commitment lies in fostering a lifelong love for books in the younger generation. Also, schools can visit the bookshop to choose books for their library – this is a great way to get the children thinking about the kinds of books they might like to see in their school.

Schools’ Book Wish Lists

At The Ginger Cat Bookshop, we understand the profound impact a single book can have on a student’s journey. While schools strive to provide enriching literary experiences, budget constraints can sometimes limit the range and volume of books available to students. That’s where our Schools’ Book Wish Lists come into play.

For every five books purchased, the Ginger Cat will donate a sixth book to the school.

Our wish list initiative is an innovative way for the community to directly support local schools. Each participating school curates a list of desired books, meticulously chosen for their classrooms and libraries. These lists, accessible below, enable parents, guardians, alumni, and well-wishers to purchase books that will directly benefit students, ensuring that the shelves are always updated with inspiring reads.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Browse and Choose: Explore the gallery below to see the selected books for each school.
  2. Gift a Book: Click on or tap the book cover to be taken to our online shop to purchase a book of your choice, which will be sent directly to the respective school.
  3. Spread the Word: Encourage others in the community to contribute, ensuring a constant inflow of fresh literary resources for our young readers.

For teachers and school representatives interested in creating or updating a wish list for their institution, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
